[The war memoirs.]
Gallipoli Memories; First Athenian Memories; Greek Memories; Aegean Memories.
First editions throughout, and scarce thus: Greek Memories (1932), which along with First Athenian Memories (1931) recounted Mackenzie’s experiences as director of the Aegean intelligence services in Syra, was withdrawn from sale and saw the author prosecuted under the Official Secrets Act in a “famous – frequently farcical – trial at the Old Bailey” (ODNB).
