First editions throughout, and scarce thus: Greek Memories (1932), which along with First Athenian Memories (1931) recounted Mackenzie’s experiences as director of the Aegean intelligence services in Syra, was withdrawn from sale and saw the author prosecuted under the Official Secrets Act in a “famous – frequently farcical – trial at the Old Bailey” (ODNB).

4 volumes, octavo. Original cloth (vols. I-III black, vol. IV red), spines lettered in gilt, vol. IV top edge red. With the dust jackets. Photographic frontispieces. Extremities lightly bumped, light spotting to edges, strip of cockling to vol. I front board, vol. IV sunned along extremities and spine, an excellent set in the clean dust jackets, only vol. IV price-clipped.
