Broadside by the Surrealist Group promoting intervention in the Spanish civil war and featuring a bold abstract design by Henry Moore, who is also a signatory. The English surrealist movement was strongly supportive of the Republican side, and the occasion for this publication was an exhibition organised by the left-wing Artists' International Congress in support of intervention. Moore exhibited with the AIC during the 1930s and was associated with the surrealists as a member of the painter Paul Nash's Unit One group. It was also during this decade that he had his first individual shows and became internationally recognised as an avant-garde sculptor. A beautiful broadside from the most innovative and productive period of Moore's artistic career.
Broadside printed in black and red (379 × 250 mm). Design by Henry Moore in red imposed over the black text on the recto. Minor creases, one horizontal and one vertical, from folding, tiny spot to lower corner. Excellent condition.
