An attractive catalogue of the antiquities of the Real Museo Borbonico in Naples, now known as the Museo Archeologico Nazionale.
Quarto (269 × 210 mm). Contemporary straight-grain pink calf, spine gilt in compartments, gilt-lettered direct in second compartment, sides ruled in gilt and blind, spot-marbled endpapers, marbled edges. Engraved throughout: title page and 158 plates (one folding). First 63 plates numbered in ink at upper outer corner, a few early leaves with additional manuscript captions at top margin (most shaved by the binder); contemporary 4 ll. manuscript list of contents in Italian bound in at end. Bookplate of Henry Mill Bunbury, and ownership inscription of Ellen Bunbury. Front cover sunned, binding generally heavily rubbed and a little stripped in places, but the text block firm and in good condition, overall a good copy.
