First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper in his difficult post-blindness hand "A John Murchison, Lo saludo […], sujo, Jorge Luis Borges, 1971". Murchison was Borges's secretary during his tenure as Charles Eliot Norton Professor of Poetry at Harvard in 1967 and '68.
Octavo. Original white wrappers printed in black and yellow. Portrait frontispiece. Wrappers very lightly toned with a few small marks. An excellent copy.
