First edition. First and Second Burma Campaigns in WWII, Malayan Emergency and Indonesian insurgency. This copy was warmly inscribed in 1988 to orthopaedic surgeon Michael Edgar. The signed card which accompanied the book loosely inserted. Walker suffered with his health in later years, having both hips replaced at military hospitals in the 1980s, operations that left him permanently disabled and led to him suing the Ministry of Defence. It would seem that Edgar was assisting Walker with his case; "In appreciation of all you have done and arranged for me in a very complex case …" The suit was settled out of court.

Octavo. Original blue-green boards. With the dust jacket. 12 plates, maps to the text. Very good in a slightly tired jacket.
