First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author on the verso of the half-title, "To W. G. Tucker, whose friendship & good advice has been helpful to me on so many occasions, Nicolas Bentley". Tipped-in on the front pastedown is a typed and signed letter from Bentley to Tucker thanking him for "help in my rabbit dilemma" and suggesting that his son may enjoy the book. Also included is a proof copy of the novel with some pencilled annotations by the author.

Octavo. Original black and white cloth, titles to spine gilt on blue ground. With the dust jacket. Spine rolled and tanned, boards lightly rubbed and spotted, light spotting to endpapers. A very good copy in the rubbed, spotted, creased and chipped proof jacket.
