Signed by the author on the title. Eleven essays on life along the Thames. According to Harold Norman Denny, writing in the New York Times Book Review and Magazine in 1922, " readers who were so charmed by his earlier work will not be disappointed in 'London River' which presents a series of pictures, sketchily drawn for the most part, yet compelling, of London Harbor and the people who live around its margins, of graceful sailing craft, reeking fishing tugs and ocean steamships he exercises restraint that softens the tones of his pictures and yet makes them ever more real and moving ". Of the 2514 copies printed, 2283 were bound that year and the remaining 231 were bound in 1924 in reddish brown cloth.
Octavo. Original greenish-brown cloth, titles to spine and upper board gilt. With the dust jacket. Frontispiece by Harold Oakley. Light partial tanning to endpapers, edges faintly spotted. An excellent copy in the dust jacket with tanned spine panel and small contemporary price sticker.
