First English language edition, first impression, originally published in French as Sans in 1969. This copy bears on the front free endpaper the ownership inscription of Jack McGowan, the premier dramatic interpreter of Beckett's work. It also contains, on the front pastedown, the bookplate of Garech de Brún, descendant of the Guinness family and wealthy patron of Irish art.
Octavo. Original light blue cloth, titles to spine in silver. With the dust jacket. Evidence of bookplate removal from rear pastedown. An excellent copy in the very lightly rubbed jacket.
