The Bombay Edition, one of only 500 complete sets from a limited edition of 1500 sets signed by the author on the half-title. The Bombay edition was initially published in 20 volumes and limited to 1000 copies. Kipling continued to write and it eventually grew to 31 volumes, but the last 11 volumes were limited to 500 copies only. Because later volumes were issued separately and at a lower limitation, complete sets such as this one are rare, and this example is bound in a particularly attractive burgundy morocco.

31 volumes. Recent burgundy morocco, spines gilt in compartments, light and dark blue morocco labels, marbled endpapers, decorative roll to boards and top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Printed from Florentine Press type on handmade paper with watermark "RK" on each second leaf. An excellent set.
