The Memorial Edition, the last edition of Conrad's works published during his lifetime. One of 99 signed sets out of a planned limited edition of 377. Unfortunately, Conrad died after he had signed only 99 of the original 377 limitation pages, and the publishers had to change their plans. They produced this Memorial Edition of 499, 99 of which were signed, this being signed set number 73.
23 volumes, octavo. Recent full brown morocco, titles and decoration to spines gilt, raised bands, marbled endpapers, roll to boards and top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Frontispiece facsimiles of original manuscript fragments in each volume. A fine set, very handsomely bound.
