First edition, first impression. One of a limited edition of 1250 numbered copies, inscribed by the editor on the front free endpaper, "To my friends Katharine and Charles Sheeler, Matthew Josephson. July 25, 1925". Artist Charles Sheller (1883–1965) was an American painter and photographer known as one of the founders of Modernism.

Octavo. Original white cloth backed blue boards, titles to spine gilt. With the dust jacket. Portrait frontispiece. Boards rubbed and tanned at spine and edges, endpapers and contents tanned. A very good copy in the rubbed and partially tanned jacket with closed tears to the spine panel and front flap that have been skilfully repaired on the verso.
