First editions, first impressions. With the ownership inscriptions of Harry Mister to the title page of volume I and the cover of volume II. Mister (1914–2006) was a committed pacifist and an early member of the Peace Pledge Union, joining shortly after the organization was founded in 1935. He began working for the periodical Peace News on a volunteer basis, and in 1940 was invited to become the circulation manager. Mister worked for the PPU until he retired in 1970, developing a series of monthly pamphlets, establishing a bookshop, introducing the idea of fund-raising Christmas cards, and risking arrest during non-violent anti-nuclear protests. A nice set and fabulous association with a pioneer of the pacifist movement in Britain.

2 volumes, stapled pamphlets. Original yellow wrappers printed in red and black. Wrappers lightly rubbed and marked, some small spots to wrappers and contents from rusting staples. A very good set.
