The dedication copy with the author's signed presentation inscription to the dedication leaf incorporating the printed dedication "[To] dear [John Heygate] with love from Bill 11 November 1953". Heygate and Williamson were close friends. Heygate himself was a minor novelist who shared Williamson's political sympathies. They traveled to Germany together in the 1930s on which trip they met Hitler.
Octavo. Original red cloth, titles to spine gilt. With the dust jacket. Fore edges spotted, but an excellent copy in the somewhat frayed and spotted dust jacket.
