Edward Weller F.R.G.S., was a London based engraver, cartographer and publisher, whose works were used in Victorian schools and other educational facilities. This highly detailed, magnificent, large 9 sheet plan of London was published in the Weekly Dispatch Atlas. The map extends from Deptford and Chelsea in the south to Hampstead and Hackney in the north. Cassell, Petter & Galpin, publishers of the map, declared that their "large map of London, as well as being the largest, is universally admitted to be the best map of London ever produced".
Framed size: 1580 x 2080 mm Hand coloured lithograph. 9 separate sheets, professionally joined and mounted on to linen then coloured by hand. Excellent condition.
