First editions, first impressions. Europe Unite (1950) is inscribed by the author "To Donald Wolfit from Winston S. Churchill". The celebrated actor-manager Donald Wolfit (1902–1968) was appointed CBE in 1950 and knighted on his retirement in 1957 (though he immediately reversed his decision and embarked on one final tour), the first British actor to be twice honoured.

5 vols. Octavo. Original brown, green, blue, maroon and red cloth, titles to spines in gilt or silver. With the dust jackets. Boards lightly rubbed and bumped to edges, dust jackets lightly rubbed and nicked to corners, white back panels lightly toned.
