"Greatest Allied Operation in the Spring" A Verbatim report on Mr. Churchill's speech delivered on 22nd Feb. 1944 to the British House of Commons.
First Edition, First Impression. "This is no time for sorrow or rejoicing. It is a time for preparation and resolve." In his speech to the House Churchill laid particular emphasis on the Anglo-American air offensive, "the most violent attacks which have yet been made on Germany." He also referred to the continuing campaign in Italy, the situation in Greece and the Balkans, relations with the Russians, and concluded by stressing the Allied common cause; "British and Americans are linked together in the noblest comradeship of war under the fire and flail of the enemy." A distinctly uncommon wartime publication. Woods notes that it was "also printed twice by the Political Warfare Executive in 1944."
