Sixth edition. With an attractive and detailed contemporary fore-edge painting depicting Douglas, Isle of Man, the harbour ringed in hills, buildings around the water, a number of ships, two fishermen with their boat in the foreground, and the Tower of Refuge on St Mary's Isle to the left.
Octavo (175 × 112 mm). Contemporary black morocco panelled in blind, spine compartments decorated in gilt and blind, lavender coated endpapers, fore-edge painting, all edges gilt. Bookplate of Arthur Charles Lowe. Hinges cracked with some minor repairs, boards lightly rubbed and nicked, fore-edge painting a little faded. A very good copy.
