An attractive collection of Arnold’s Roman history, first published in 1840 in two volumes, with a third volume added posthumously in 1843; History of the later Roman Commonwealth was reprinted from The Encyclopaedia Metropolitana.

2 works together in 5 volumes (212 × 134 mm), octavo. Contemporary calf, green and black labels, spines decorated in compartments, flat bands, roll to boards and turn-ins, marbled endpapers and edges. Some occasional light foxing, spines and boards lightly rubbed and marked, an attractive set in very good condition.
