2 volumes, octavo (197 × 132 mm). Finely bound by Bayntun, mid twentieth century, in rich brown crushed morocco, spines gilt in compartments between five raised bands, gilt lettered in two panels and dated at foot; slightly bevelled boards with one-line gilt rule border enclosing, on front cover, a geometric interlace panel with inset blue faceted stone at each corner and gilt flower tools at inside corners, each flower with an inset faceted green stone and a single seed pearl, enclosing a central oval with a miniature portrait mounted behind glass, the oval surrounded with seed pearls; on back cover the geometric interlace panel in gilt; board edges decorated in gilt with a dotted roll, headcaps with gilt hatching; moiré silk doublures and endpapers, turn-ins gilt all round with stylised flower tools at corners, gilt edges. Extra-illustrated with the inclusion of 28 extra plates of which 4 are hand-coloured. Fine condition.
