Large paper edition. One of 325 copies printed on fine paper and signed by the author. The text is taken from that of the Wessex Edition and incorporates the author's revisions. A scarce and exceedingly handsome book.
Large octavo. Original quarter vellum, spine lettered gilt, marbled boards, edges uncut and partly unopened. In the grey paper dust jacket printed in dark blue. 41 wood engravings by Vivien Gribble. Spine very slightly toned. An excellent copy in the rubbed jacket with some short closed tears and a chip from the head of the spine panel only affecting part of the T in Tess.
