First edition, first impression. One of a limited edition of 1250 numbered copies, this an out-of-series presentation copy. Very handsomely bound.
Large quarto (322 × 245 mm). Contemporary turquoise morocco, spine gilt in compartments with custom tools related to Charles II, boards gilt panelled with floral cornerpieces and Charles II tools, crest centrepiece to upper board, rose tools to turn-ins gilt, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Colour frontispiece and 39 plates, head and tail-pieces. Bookplate. Spine toned, a little spotting to contents. An excellent copy.
