First trade edition. With insert leaflet advertising an exhibition of the original watercolours at the Leicester Galleries in 1912.
Quarto (278 × 210 mm). Finely bound by Bumpus of Oxford in contemporary blue crushed morocco, spine richly gilt in compartments, two-line gilt rule to covers, board edges, and turn-ins, edges gilt. Frontispiece and 20 tipped-in colour plates with captioned tissue-guards, 11 small two tone illustrations. Mild wear to binding in places, endpapers browned from turn-ins, an excellent copy.
