First editions, first impressions. With a loosely inserted letter on Wheatley's stationery from his widow Joan to Wheatley's friend Edward F. Lydall thanking him for his condolences following the author's death and inviting him to call on her. The letter is dated 28th November, 1977, eighteen days after Wheatley's death.
3 volumes, octavo. Original black boards, titles to spines and emblems to upper boards gilt. With the dust jacket. Frontispiece to each volume and illustrations throughout. An excellent set in the jackets that are a little rubbed at the extremities with slightly faded spine panels.
