First edition in English language, first printing. A selection of short stories written when the author was just 14 and 15 years old.
Octavo. Original blue paper over boards, front side and spine lettered in silver, with dust jacket. Loosely inserted is a letter and two envelopes from the translator to a representative of Houghton Mifflin. Some light fading at edges of boards, mark from adhesive tape to front free endpaper, dust jacket has a little rubbing and chipping, one or two damp stains, small tear to rear side and partially removed red star-shaped sticker to spine, otherwise an excellent copy.
