Octavo (203 × 130mm). later smooth red calf, 5 raised bands, spine lettered in gilt, inner dentelles decoratively tooled in blind, gilt edges, marbled endpapers. 8 engraved plates and numerous illustrations in text. Near contemporary gift inscription to reverse of front free endpaper. Rubbing at extremities, spine slightly darkened, small dampstain to lower outer corner of front cover, slight foxing to endpapers, frontispiece and title page, text leaves neat and clean, a good copy.
