First edition in book form. The novelisation was serialised in Mystery Magazine the same year and published in book form slightly before the film was released. Lovelace was a former newspaper reporter, author of several books, including biographies of football coach Knute Rockne and Dwight D. Eisenhower. The original concept was Merian C. Cooper's, and Edgar Wallace had worked on the story.

Octavo. Original lime green cloth, titles to spine and front board in black, endpapers photographic images from the film. With the dust jacket. Pages a little browned as usual, tiny loss of colour to very tips of the boards, couple of light string marks to boards, but a very bright copy in a somewhat frayed dust jacket with very slight loss at the little faded spine.
