First edition, first impression. An engaging look at the Women's Royal Naval Service of World War II with photographs by acclaimed art photographer and war correspondent Lee Miller. Loosely inserted is a formal group portrait of 23 Wrens taken 12 June 1945 with all their names inscribed on the back.
Quarto. Original blue cloth, titles to spine and anchor device to upper board in white. With the dust jacket. Illustrated throughout from photos by Lee Miller. Binding faded along the edges and head of the spine panel. An excellent copy in the rubbed jaket with a few spots of dampstain along the spine and a chip from the head of the spine panel affecting the photographer's name.
