First edition. Surprisingly uncommon - just 7 copies on OCLC - attractively produced journalistic account of the 1903-4 disturbances in Bulgaria and Macedonia. Booth served as special correspondent to the Graphic, but is maybe better known as a contributor of hunting scenes to Punch. He emigrated to Australia in 1911, enlisted in 1914, and died at sea from wounds received at Gallipoli in 1915.

Octavo. Original mid-blue pictorial cloth, title gilt to the spine, largely flaked as often, title in red to the upper board together with illustration of a charging cavalryman in white, red and black. Coloured frontispiece and eleven other plates, three of them coloured, folding map, line-drawings to the text. A little rubbed, spine lettering flaked as noted, mild lean, light toning, a very good copy.
