First edition, this number 17 of the limited issue of 60 copies on Lafuma. One of the earliest serious works on jazz. Panassié was the founder of the Hot Club de Paris and for many years the most authoritative European voice on jazz. This limited edition is a very different beast to the standard trade issue, and extremely uncommon.
Octavo. Original wraps with upper panel design by Chastel. Coloured frontispiece after Chastel and 8 half-tone plates. Wraps just a little rubbed, and with a few small spots, else a very good copy
