First edition, first printing. The author's first book and a rare one. This biography of the leading silent screen actresses of her day was written at the age of 20. It was the only book to be published in Russia before Rand emigrated. Her second work also devoted to the cinema was released without authority after she had fled for America. Only two or three copies have appeared at auction in 30 years.

Small octavo. Single quire wire stitched into pictorial pink wrappers printed in black. Housed in a black quarter morocco solander box made by The Chelsea Bindery. Stock browning as always, very short split at the fold, numeral to inside of lower wrapper. An outstanding copy of a tissue thin gossamer of a book.
