Re-issue of the first US edition of 1958. One of Frank's most notable publications and something of a sensation in its day. Frank managed to offend an entire population by depicting all too accurately the society in which they lived. Kerouac barely helped matters by contributing a preface which further cemented Frank's position as bete noir of US photography.
Oblong quarto. Original black boards, titles to front cover blindstamped, titles to spine in silver. Photographically illustrated by Frank. Boards lightly rubbed, owner's name to front free endpaper, white dust jacket very lightly toned, an excellent copy.
