A complete run of this short-lived, handsome and highly ambitious journal of the yachting world. Complete sets are extremely uncommon, listings on COPAC for BL and Oxford only, OCLC adds just the NMM and Alexander Turnbull Library, National Library of New Zealand. Contains a wide range of articles on cruising, racing, yacht design, and voyages, including contributions by Linton Hope, Erskine Childers, Francis B. Cooke, James Meikle, and other eminent yachting figures of the late nineteenth century, includes plates after sketches by W.L. Wyllie and from photographs by Beken of Cowes.
2 volumes, large octavo. Original red pebble-grained cloth, title gilt to spines and upper boards. 64 plates, 24 of them folding plans, numerous illustrations to the text. Slightly rubbed, both front hinges a little loose, but overall very good indeed.
