First edition under this title, comprising atlases of the four continents already published as individual volumes by Halma, with the addition of new maps of England, Scotland, Ireland, Brandenburg, the United Provinces, Holland, Switzerland, Sicily and two maps of the Holy Land.
Quarto (220 × 165 mm), in six parts (including Luyt's Tables Geographiques and Bion's L'Usage des Globes as supplements). Contemporary sprinkled calf, spine gilt in compartments between raised bands, red and black sprinkled edges. Double-page engraved allegorical title, double-page printed title in black and red, 74 double-page maps engraved by A. de Winter reduced from Sanson's 1658 folio atlas, and 15 plates, of which 11 are folding, and diagrams in Bion's supplement, printed divisional titles (Bion's in red and black). Contemporary ownership inscriptions of M. Galland. Upper joint cracked and held by cords, lower joint tender, one folding celestial map detached and with tape repair to verso, else a fine copy, clean and fresh, in contemporary continental calf.
