NotesFirst edition, number 42 of 50 copies signed by Heaney, from a total edition of 150 printed on Glastonbury laid paper. This is not only one of the first limited editions put out by Heaney, and now very scarce, but also marks the first appearance of one of his early masterpieces. The last copy recorded at auction was in 1999, and about a third of the edition has been absorbed into the institutional libraries, leaving precious few available to collectors.
Small octavo. Original white wrappers, titles in black, stapled at the fold.
A few minor spots, and a little rusting to the staples, but a bright copy in excellent condtiion.
