"New edition" of a work that was extremely popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, first published as The School-Master's Guide: or, a Complete System of Practical Arithmetic. The first two printings do not appear to have survived, the earliest edition in ESTC and ICAEW being the third of 1771.
Description
Duodecimo in half-sheets (171 x 100 mm), pp. viii, 243, [1 (blank)]. Contemporary sheep, spine ruled gilt.
Condition
Ownership inscription in ink of Lucy Nicholson on front free endpaper. Joints cracked, front joint with one cord repaired, spine ends and corners worn. Some light toning and occasional foxing. Clean tear to one leaf, without loss of text; a good copy.
