First edition, first impression. The sequel to The Education of Uncle Paul which was first published in 1909. Blackwood became "Uncle Paul" to children in his own family and those of his friends. He delighted in having the fun of the children without the responsibility. Blackwood was of the opinion that children, like animals, had not lost their instinctive closeness to nature or their innocence, both of which became dulled with age. Condition

Ex circulating library copy free from marks, light shelf wear at extremities, nicks to head and tail of spine, front hinge cracked but holding, endpapers toned, mark to rear pastedown from removal of library label, very slight foxing in places, else a good copy.
