A Spaniard in the Works.London : 1965 Stock Code: 139129
NotesFirst edition, first impression. Lennon's second book, A Spaniard in the Works is a collection of humorous nonsensical stories and drawings. While similar to his first book, In His Own Write (1964), Lennon's second collection is arguably more ambitious in its scope. Of particular interest is the poem, "Our Dad"; a poignant insight into his relationship with his father, who left the family when Lennon was a boy, only to reappear years later after the Beatles' rise to fame.
Octavo. Original pictorial laminated boards, title to front cover and spine in white on pink ground. No dust jacket issued.
Illustrated by the author; printed in dark brown and green.
Contemporary ownership signature to front pastedown. Light rubbing to binding, laminate cockling a little at joints, scattered faint foxing to contents. A very good copy.
