First edition, a decidedly uncommon handbook of maritime commerce, with just two copies in British and Irish institutional libraries (Senate House and Manchester), OCLC adds two in the Netherlands. Mascall was a prolific publisher of commercial handbooks, this iteration compiled in light of the opening of trade with the Portuguese colonies of South America and the expiry of agreements governing trade with the United States.

Octavo in half-sheets (211 x 130 mm). Contemporary diced russia, rebacked with original spine laid down, blind-rolled foliate, single-fillet and hatched borders to covers incorporating a single-fillet rule gilt, raised bands to spine forming compartments, titles direct to second and ship motifs to remaining compartments gilt, marbled edges and endpapers, turn-ins tooled in gilt.

D2 with no loss of text, the very occasional marginal spot. A very good copy, internally crisp and fresh.
