Notes

First edition. "Brayley's most important work was probably a History of Surrey (5 vols., 18418). His topographical works bear scrutiny because of his competence in a range of scientific, literary, and artistic subjects, a breadth of knowledge which few other contemporary topographers could match" (ODNB). A handsomely bound set.
