First Foulis edition of both works, and the first appearance in print of Burnet treatise, with Locke's treatise originally published in his posthumous works in 1706. The terminal advertisement leaves for Robert Foulis's press are present, and include an advertisement for his upcoming edition of Plato's Republic, the first edition in English. An uncommon work, with ESTC listing copies in only eight institutions.

Late-Victorian ownership signature to front free endpaper. Terminal advertisement leaves present. Expertly rebacked and recornered, some abrasion to covers, light toning to some leaves; a very good copy.
