Notes

First edition. Adam Dickson (1721-1776), a Scottish clergymen with a keen interest in agriculture, published this work after observing that much of the literature on agriculture was based on English farming, and therefore not applicable to Scotland. Seeking to rectify this, in this work he focuses heavily on Scottish agriculture, and the means by which it could be improved. The work was highly popular with Scottish farmers, going through six editions in the 18th century, with a second volume being added in 1769.
