A Wizard of Earthsea.
Drawings by Ruth Robbins.
Berkeley: Parnassus Press, 1968 Stock Code: 136572
An excellent copy of the rare true first edition
First edition, first printing, with the publisher's faint vertical smudge on the title page, running through the "r" in "Wizard", the round symbol, the second "u" in "Ursula" below, the "n" in "drawings", and ending at the "r" in "press", and the trade jacket with "11 up 3.95" at upper corner of front flap and library price clipped from lower corner of front flap, as issued by the publisher. This is the first instalment in Ursula K. Le Guin's first works for young adults: the Earthsea trilogy. "Although 6,800 copies of the first printing were produced, most copies were sold to public and secondary school libraries, and fine unmarked copies have proved to be quite elusive" (Currey).
