First edition thus, limited issue, number 23 of 20 copies (numbers 6-25) printed on handmade paper by the Chiswick Press and bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in red morocco, from a total run of 250 copies. Shelley's elegy for Keats, first published in 1821 (the year of Keats's death) is considered among the finest of Shelley's work, and was described by him as his "least imperfect poem" (Woodings, p. 213).

Quarto. Original red full oasis morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, titles to spine and front board in gilt, spine in compartments, board edges and turn-ins ruled in gilt, top edge gilt, others untrimmed.

Illustrations

Title page, initials, and colophon printed in red.

Condition

Spine faintly browned, minor rubbing to bottom edge of boards, offsetting to free endpapers from turn-ins; else a near-fine, crisp, copy.
