An attractive set

First edition of Through the Looking-Glass, together with an early edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, this being from the 12th thousand, published just three years after the first edition of 1865, handsomely bound as a set by Bayntun of Bath. The Alice books earned the author "a place in the firmament of the great, for they are not only acts of imaginative genius but they also revolutionized writing for children" (ODNB).
