Notes

First separate edition, number 3 of 25 specially printed copies, initialled by Florence Emily Hardy, Thomas Hardy's second wife. This poem was written by Hardy for a special Armistice Day section of The Times, published on 11 November, 1920, on the occasion of the burial of the Unknown Soldier. An uncommon work with just eight copies traced at auction.
