Annales de législation et d'économie politique.[Geneva: 1822] Stock Code: 127713
Rare Genevan economics journalFirst and only issue of this journal, a great rarity, with copies known only in Cambridge and in Geneva. The journal had grown out of the Annales de législation et de jurisprudence, which was published between 1820 and 1823 in Geneva. In the current journal, the editors aimed to expand their scope, and to provide recommendations and analysis for the use of legislators on questions of political economy. Included are articles by P. Rossi, one of the most distinguished Italian economists of the 19th century, Etienne Dumont, editor and translator of Bentham, and a review by Simonde de Sismondi of two publications by the economist John Barton.
Octavo (199 x 106 mm). Contemporary quarter sheep, orange label, marbled sides.
Library shelf mark to spine and covers, ownership signatures to front free endpaper, one contemporary, one 20th-century. Sheep lightly rubbed, some light foxing. A very good copy.
