NotesFirst edition, no other copy traced. Group of poems on Islamic themes dedicated to Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur, Nizam of Hyderabad and Berar - "The Premier Muslim Ruler in India". Sir Nizamat Jung Bahadur (1871-1955)was an Arab-Indian poet, lawyer and bibliophile. In 1887 he became a student at Trinity College Cambridge where he gained a B.A. and LL.B - thus becoming the first person from Hyderbad Deccan to be so well qualified. He was called to the Bar from the Inner Temple and then held various prestigious positions under the Nizams eventually becoming Chief Justice of the Hyderabad Deccan High Court (see Ahmed, Life's Yesterdays: Glimpses of Sir Nizamat Jung and his Times).
Octavo. 34 pp. Original blue sand grain cloth, title gilt to the front board, original grey marl card wraps bound in front and back.
Cloth a little spotted, otherwise very good.
