First edition, first impression, and first appearance of Virginia Woolf's essay "A Woman's College from Outside". This literary and artistic "miscellany" produced to celebrate and fund the Edinburgh University Women's Union in its 21st year.
It also features writing by, among others, Hilaire Belloc, W. H. Davies, Walter de la Mare, Fredegond Shove, Rachel Annand Taylor, T. Sturge Moore, Hugh McDiarmid and Sylvia Lind, and a colour frontispiece by Edinburgh-based Arts & Craft Movement artist Phoebe Anna Traquair. Scarce in the jacket.

Octavo. Original white cloth-backed brown and white patterned boards, titles in black to printed paper label on front board, bottom edge untrimmed. With dust jacket.
Illustrations
Title printed in blue and black, colour frontispiece and 11 other plates including an etching after Jessie M. King, all but two with a captioned tissue guard.
Condition
Slight rubbing to tips, the binding otherwise sharp, internally crisp. A fine copy in the very good jacket, a little wear and edge-splits to extremities, remains of a once removed sticker to front panel, lightly toned.
