Several printings are known, with variant engravings. Bonne was a significant figure in the development of cartography, prioritizing accuracy and detail over decoration.
Quarto (252 x 201 mm). Contemporary mottled sheep, brown sheep label lettered in gilt, spine gilt to compartments with floral motifs, marbled endpapers, red edges.
With 50 maps and 23 tables, some folding.
Contemporary ownership signature to front free endpaper verso. Light wear to extremities and splitting at joint ends, sheep with a few patches of rubbing and one patch of insect damage, light toning to first few text leaves.
