BARRIE, J. M.

BARRIE, J. M.

Rare books by J. M. Barrie, including first editions and signed copies of the Peter Pan books.

James Matthew Barrie (1860–1937) was a prolific Scottish author and dramatist, best known for creating Peter Pan.
The origins of Peter Pan as a literary character were long drawn out. He first appeared as a book-within-a-book in Barrie’s London story-collection The Little White Bird(1902), by which time Barrie was increasingly turning away from prose to concentrate on drama.
